The FastTrack MBA is designed to allow students with an existing foundation of business knowledge to take their leadership skills to the next level. The program can be completed in just 10 months (full-time, August to May) or 22 months (part-time). You would begin the FastTrack MBA with a two-week intensive course in mid-August and then join current MBA students in completing your courses.
Advance Your Career
Rather than relearning business fundamentals, the FastTrack MBA focuses your studies on advanced management topics that you require to take your career to the next level. The FastTrack program fully incorporates students into senior Alberta MBA elective courses. MBA Career Services offers complete support to help you meet your career objectives.
Students will complete a minimum of 12 courses in the FastTrack MBA program. This includes five core courses and seven electives. The program begins with a two-week long daytime intensive course in mid-August. One week will review business fundamentals while the other (Manager as Strategist) will identify and develop human resources, leadership and strategy skills for managers.
In choosing electives, students can choose to complete their own customized program or complete the requirements for one of the Alberta MBA specializations. Specializations are available in:
The FastTrack MBA for Business Graduates offers exceptional instruction and excellent value while allowing students to complete the program in only 10 months. FastTrack MBA applicants would follow the same admission process as our MBA applicants.
Business Fundamental Course Requirements
As part of your entry into the FastTrack MBA, we would look closely at some key courses you completed in your Bachelors degree. The five areas we would look at are Business Statistics, Finance, Financial Accounting, Marketing and Organizational Behaviour. If you have a grade of B or lower in any of these introductory courses (or higher level courses in these areas), you would be required to complete an additional course(s) in this area during your MBA (this would increase your course requirement beyond 12 courses). For Alberta BCom graduates, the courses we would look at are:
Accounting 311: Introduction to Accounting for Financial Performance
Finance 301: Introduction to Finance
Marketing 301: Introduction to Marketing
Management Science 312: Probability and Statistics for Business
Strategic Management and Organization 201/310: Introduction to Management
