Update - May 5, 2021

On Tuesday, May 4, 2021, the Government of Alberta introduced stronger, wide-ranging public health restrictions in order to Stop the Spike of COVID-19. As a result, the following University of Alberta sport and recreation programs and facilities are affected:

Update - April 29, 2021

On Thursday, April 29, 2021, the Government of Alberta announced that the province is introducing expanded restrictions for hotspot regions, including Edmonton. As a result, starting Friday, April 30th, the following provincial restrictions will affect our Campus & Community Recreation programs and facilities:

Update - April 17, 2020

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in Alberta and closures of all Recreation facilities, Campus & Community Recreation has made the decision to cancel our spring program session which was scheduled to run throughout the months of May and June.

Update - April 6, 2021

On Tuesday, April 6, 2021, the Government of Alberta announced stronger public health measures, returning to Phase 1 restrictions, on some recreation and sport activities. We will continue to monitor government announcements and assess new information as it becomes available.

Update - March 3, 2021

Campus & Community Recreation Clients, On March 1 the Government of Alberta announced a cautious approach to re-opening recreation and sport facilities and programs!

Update - February 4, 2021

On Friday, January 29th, the Government of Alberta announced a lifting of restrictions on some recreation and sport activities. The Campus & Community Recreation team has spent the past several days analysing potential opportunities to provide our clients with physical activity programs and services. We will continue to monitor government announcements and assess new information as it becomes available.

Update - January 25, 2021

All University of Alberta sport and recreation facilities, services, and in-person programs will remain closed until further notice.

Update - January 12, 2021

As you are aware, the Government of Alberta has recently extended the mandatory restrictions for recreation facility closure. The restrictions are expected to be in place until at least January 21, 2021. Campus & Community Recreation will continue to monitor government announcements and provide further updates as necessary.

Update - December 10, 2020

In response to the Government of Alberta’s most recent COVID-19 announcement, declaring a state of a public health emergency, Campus & Community Recreation is implementing new mandatory restrictions as required by these orders. The restrictions are expected to be in place until at least January 12, 2021.

Update - November 26, 2020

As a result of the Province of Alberta announcement regarding COVID-19 public health restrictions on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, Campus & Community Recreation has taken this opportunity to review our programs, services, and facility operations. Our goal is to provide a safe environment following the provincial guidelines. Your health and wellness are important to us and we understand this includes participating in physical activity!

Update - November 13, 2020

The Government of Alberta has announced new public health measures to protect the health system and limit the spread of COVID-19. The new measures will be in place between November 13-27. The University of Alberta and Campus & Community Recreation are committed to providing safe and healthy spaces to support your recreation goals.

At all times, the goal of the University of Alberta and Campus & Community Recreation is to operate efficient, safe, and engaging programs and facilities for all of our users. During this pandemic, this goal is increasingly demanding to achieve. As we enter this fall/winter season, COVID-19 continues to be a threat and the flu season is upon us.

As you are aware, the Government of Alberta has announced the re-launch guidelines for the Sport, Physical Activity, and Recreation sector as part of their stage 2 reopening strategy. We are in the process of reviewing these guidelines and developing plans to welcome you back in a safe and responsible manner. We ask for your patience while we conduct our assessment and put plans in place and will make an announcement regarding our re-launch plans in the near future.
