It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

September is an exciting month at University of Alberta. Here's a rundown of all the upcoming orientation and back-to-school activities happening on the U of A North Campus in the coming weeks.


Aug. 5—Sep. 6
  International Student Campus Check-in. Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m.—4:30 p.m @ Telus Centre 131

  Campus Airport Welcome Booth. @ Edmonton International Airport.
Aug. 25—Sep. 6
  Eastern Ascent. Orientation program for East Campus residents.
Aug. 26
  Residence Move-in Day.
Aug. 26Sep. 1
  BaseCamp. Orientation program for first-year Lister students.
Aug. 27—29   Transitions Orientation. Orientation for international students.
Aug. 28—29
  Bridges Orientation. Orientation for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students. Registration ends August 16.
Aug. 29
  TAWOW Welcoming Event. Annual welcome to new and continuing First Nations, Métis and Inuit students.
Sep. 2   New Student Orientation.
President's Address. A time-honoured tradition to welcome all new students, including appearances by the Students' Union President, Alumni Association President, and President of the U of A. Prizes and other performances will also be included in this hour-long celebration.
Sep. 2—6   Week of Welcome (WOW). Daily pancake breakfasts, info village, activities, WOW Mainstage & beer gardens in Quad. Evening events including free movie night, comedy at the Myer Horowitz Theatre, Taste of the U, and more.
Clubs Fair. 10 a.m.—5 p.m. @ Quad. Prizes to be won by meeting clubs and playing games.
Sep. 7
  East Campus Village Block Party. 11 a.m.4 p.m. on 88 Ave between 110 & 111 St.
Sep. 13   Green and Gold Day. Get in the spirit by wearing your green and gold, and enjoying the festivities which include a parade, pep rally, and dodgeball @ Quad.
Sep. 18
  Go Abroad Fair. Find out more about learning, working and volunteering opportunities abroad.
Sep. 1922   Alumni Weekend. Special events and activities across campus to welcome back our former students. 
Sep. 25
  Careers Day. U of A's largest career event of the year. 10 a.m.—4 p.m. @ Butterdome.
Sep. 30
  Orange Shirt Day. Wear orange to remember and honour residential school survivors.                         
Oct. 10
  Dogs in the Library. Cuddle some canines and improve your mood. 12 p.m. @ John W. Scott Library.
