STATEMENT FROM THE DEAN
Message of congratulations from Dean Pierre-Yves Mocquais [courtesy translation]
EDMONTON (October 26, 2021) – On behalf of the University of Alberta's Campus Saint-Jean community, Prof. Pierre-Yves Mocquais, Dean of Campus Saint-Jean, congratulates Randy Boissonnault, Campus Saint-Jean Alumnus and Member of Parliament for Edmonton-Center, on his appointment as Minister of Tourism and Associate Minister of Finance. For Dean Mocquais, Randy Boissonnault has always worked at the heart of the Campus Saint-Jean community by promoting its values of unity, diversity and university. He was and remains a vigorous supporter of the values of the Campus and of the Franco-Albertan cause.
Doyen Mocquais also congratulates Ginette Petitpas Taylor on her appointment as Minister of Official Languages and looks forward to continuing the promising efforts made jointly by the federal government and Campus Saint-Jean.
He took the opportunity to congratulate Mélanie Joly, former Minister of Official Languages, on her appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs, and thank her for having worked so hard with Campus Saint-Jean for its development and promotion.
Prof. Mocquais reiterates his congratulations to Laila Goodridge, also Campus Saint-Jean Alumnus and now MP for Fort McMurray — Cold Lake, who was sworn in today.

Campus Saint-Jean, a multidisciplinary French-language academic unit at the University of Alberta comprising the Faculté Saint-Jean, the Center collegial de l'Alberta and the École de langue, is defined by a commitment to integrate the learning, discovery and citizenship. Today, nearly 1,000 students, driven by the desire to pursue their post-secondary studies in French, attend Campus Saint-Jean, and study as part of its college, bachelor's and master's programs.
