Alberta

Alberta has the third largest French-speaking population outside Quebec in Canada, with most of it concentrated in Edmonton, the provincial capital. Studying at the CSJ will allow you to discover a historic and very dynamic French-speaking community in the heart of which our campus is located. In this francophone neighborhood, you will find a multitude of services in French (bookstore, community center, employment center) and many artistic and cultural organizations dedicated to the influence of the Albertan Francophonie. Whether it is to live a French immersion experience or simply to live in French in Western Canada, our community awaits you with open arms!

Edmonton

Edmonton, Alberta's capital, is located at the centre of province. Over one millions inhabitants live in Edmonton, a city known for its festivals, including the second largest "fringe" festival in the world and its folk music festival and for its legendary hockey team: the Oilers. Edmonton also hosts the West Edmonton Mall, North America's large indoor mall (800 stores, 100 restaurants) and many museums and concert venues. At the very heart of the city, the North Saskatchewan river valley is North America’s largest stretch of urban parkland, offering 160 kilometres of trails, several golf courses and many skating rinks and ski hills.

The University of Alberta

A prestigious institution of world renown, the University of Alberta is regularly ranked in the top 5 of the best Canadian universities, and among the 100 best universities in the world. Its specializations in research, notably in artificial intelligence and in the future of energy systems (Future Energy Systems) make it an institution at the cutting edge of technology and resolutely avant-garde.

Campus Saint-Jean

Within the University of Alberta, Campus Saint-Jean is a unique crossroads of academic, linguistic and cultural life, distinguished by its language of use, French, by its daring interdisciplinary programs and by the quality of its achievements in research and creation. Campus Saint-Jean has two distinct branches: Faculté Saint-Jean with its undergraduate and graduate programs and the Center collégial de l'Alberta. Residence, bookstore, theater, choir, Campus Saint-Jean has all the elements of a dynamic, active and vibrant Francophone community.

Innovative Transformation and Development

Innovation plays a major role at Campus Saint-Jean. The educational and digital transformation room, inaugurated in spring 2019, is equipped with large interconnected touch screens and tablets, and embodies the archetype of the alliance between technology, mobility and versatility. The new scientific teaching laboratories are equipped with water recycling systems and reach the highest standards in terms of sustainable development and safety.

Innovation going hand in hand with research, the professor-researchers of Campus Saint-Jean, specializing in many fields ranging from sociolinguistics to biology, from the anthropology of health to business administration, winning numerous prestigious award both nationally and internationally.

Fees

Under the University of Alberta Tuition Fee Guarantee Policy, tuition fees will be a maximum of CAD $ 27,000 per year. This amount may vary according to certain programs. In addition to these tuition fees, an additional amount of approximately CAD $ 10,000 must be provided for living expenses (accommodation, food, entertainment, etc.) More information.

Bourses

Nearly $330,000 in scholarships are distributed annually to students of Campus Saint-Jean. Some scholarships are available to prospective international students. Scholarships managed by Campus Saint-Jean; other scholarships administered by the University of Alberta's Student Awards Office. More information.
