Admission Requirements for Bilingual Bachelor of Commerce (BCom)

Important information about admission to Business

There is no direct entry from high school into the Bachelor of Commerce program (BCom). Students must first complete a year of university in another Faculty or postsecondary institution and take courses in English, Economics, Mathematics and Statistics. Admission to the BCom is competitive based on performance in the required courses and a student's overall academic record.

Initial admission is at Campus Saint-Jean (CSJ) where students will register for the courses of their pre-professional year and will follow all their courses in French. Applicants who have not completed their preprofessional requirements at CSJ are normally required to complete the preprofessional requirements in French at a recognized institution.

Applicants to the program must meet the criteria of English Language Proficiency and French Language Proficiency as courses are taught in both languages.

Preprofessional Study Time: 1 year

★24 transferable work required (★ = units of course weight)

Courses to be completed at Faculté Saint-Jean:

★6 in ANGL or ENGL
MATHQ 113 or 114

Note: ALS and EAP courses are not acceptable equivalents to ANGL or ENGL.

GPA/Competitive Academic Average

Students must present a minimum GPA of 2.3. (on a scale of 4) during their last consecutive fall / winter session (September to April) before their application is considered. Please note that a GPA of 2.3 and presentation of the basic requirements does not guarantee admission. All qualified applicants are ranked and admitted in order by GPA until the quota is met. The competitive GPA was determined to be between 2.8 and 3.0 in previous admission years, but may fluctuate with each admission cycle due to the quality of the applicant pool and the number of places available.
