Dr. Hrytsak, the leading biographer of Ivan Franko, will discuss this incident in the broader context of Franko's life and career.

Dr. Yaroslav Hrytsak is professor of history of the Ukrainian Catholic University, Lviv; director of the Petro Jacyk Program for the Study of Modern Ukrainian History and Society of the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies , and director of the Institute of Historical Research, Ivan Franko National University, Lviv.
