Our History

The Canadian Literature Centre was established in 2006. University of Alberta alumnus Dr. Eric Schloss, writer, respected community leader and noted bibliophile, recognized the need for an organization devoted solely to the study and promotion of Canadian literatures in their widest context nationally and internationally. Dr. Schloss proposed the original concept and vision for the Centre and in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts also provided the initial leadership gift. The Honorable Jim Edwards and Mrs. Sheila Edwards, the Schloss family as well as Mrs. Anne Cooper have also lent their generous support to the Centre.

Notre Histoire
