These 6-month positions are meant to support your organization while supporting the graduates in developing employability skills and building their professional network.
- Provide quality work experience that will develop the participant's skills and provide professional development opportunities.
- Provide a minimum hourly rate of $25.00, of which $12.50 per hour will be provided through the wage subsidy. Preference will be given to employers who are willing to top up the wage more than $12.50 per hour.
- Pay all Mandatory Employment-Related Costs (MERCs).
- Identify a supervisor for the participant who in turn agrees to support the intern (e.g. provide time during or away from work) in developing their employability skills, building their professional network and completing the requirements of the internship.
Preference will be given to employers who demonstrate interest in continuing the participant’s employment past the six-month work term.
Work experience positions must start by March 6, 2017.
