Our Speaker Series events are designed to help you expand your employment outlook. At each event, you will:

  • Listen to professionals who graduated with your degree or work in your field of interest.
  • Hear tips and strategies about career and work search based on the lived successes and failures of professionals.
  • Gain perspective on your skills, knowledge, and abilities and how they apply to the workplace.
  • Open doors to opportunities by talking with professionals who can get you connected.

Each event will have a panel, discussion, networking, and refreshments. All Speaker Series sessions are free. Registration is recommended.

Speakers

  • Joshua Duarte
    Joshua Duarte is the RBC on-campus manager/advisor at the University of Alberta -which will have a permanent location opening mid-2020. He holds a certificate in advanced financial advice from the Canadian Security Institute and is a candidate for the personal financial planner designation. He has been working with RBC since 2012 and has held several roles in increasing responsibility in retail banking.
  • Andrea Lindsay
    Andrea Lindsay is a member of the RBC early talent acquisition Canada team. Her current focus is on personal and commercial banking opportunities in Western Canada. Her role is to assist in connecting hiring managers with motivated students for summer internships, co-op roles, rotational programs and new grad opportunities. As an Indigenous woman, she is a passionate advocate for inclusion and an active member of in a number of RBC employee resource groups. She also finds herself continually inspired through her interaction with students while helping them identify the right role to help launch their careers.
  • Amber MacMillan
    Amber is the regional manager for investment and retirement planning in Downtown Edmonton and leads a team of 11 passionate, accredited financial planners. She graduated from University of Alberta in 2004 with a BCom majoring in finance. Spending over 15 years with RBC, she has held almost every advice giving role in the retail branch and had an opportunity to work with RBC Global Asset Management as regional manager for Western Canada, directly preceding her current position. As a long-time CFP holder, she lives and breathes financial planning for mass affluent clients through the team she now leads.
