Action Plan Objective 4: Culture Change

Decision-Making at UAlberta

The University of Alberta is governed by a collegial governance system, which involves highly consultative decision-making processes depending heavily upon the participation of stakeholders. The university’s processes are legally-binding and set out in the Government of Alberta’s Post-Secondary Learning Act(PSLA) and in the university’s collective agreements with the AASUA and NASA unions.  Most decisions at the University of Alberta are made by committee or through organizational bodies, such as the General Faculties Council.
