Jillian Buriak named new Editor-in-Chief of Chemistry of Materials

Professor Jillian Buriak named editor-in-chief of prominent journal.

University of Alberta professor and Canada Research Chair Dr. Jillian Buriak was recently named Editor-in-Chief of American Chemical Society journal Chemistry of Materials. Below is a short excerpt of the press release.

The American Chemical Society (ACS) announces that Jillian M. Buriak, Ph.D., will assume the role of Editor-in-Chief of Chemistry of Materials in January 2014. Buriak, who currently serves as Associate Editor for ACS Nano, is Professor, Canada Research Chair in Inorganic and Nanoscale Materials, and Senior Research Officer of the National Institute for Nanotechnology at the University of Alberta, Canada.



Buriak will succeed Editor-in-Chief Leonard V. Interrante, Ph.D., the founding Editor-in-Chief of Chemistry of Materials, who has served in this position since 1989 and will retire from the journal at the end of 2013. Interrante is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
