Another great year for chemistry faculty at the 2017 CIC/CSC annual awards banquet!

Continuing several years of successes, our professors had another excellent year with the annual awards of the Canadian Institute of Chemistry and the Canadian Society for Chemistry. Professors Jillian Buriak, Charles Lucy, and Jon Veinot were recognized at the annual awards banquet that took place at the 100th Canadian Chemistry Conference in Toronto this June:

E. W. R. Steacie Award

Sponsored by the E.W.R. Steacie Endowment Fund, supported by the CSC Board and some Divisions of the CSC and CIC, the E.W.R. Steacie Award is presented to a scientist who has made a distinguished contribution to chemistry while working in Canada.

Award for Research Excellence in Materials Chemistry

Jonathan Veinot, University of Alberta

Sponsored by the Materials Chemistry Division, the Award for Research Excellence in Materials Chemistry is presented to a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant who has made an outstanding contribution to materials chemistry while working in Canada.
