The annual Gilead Lecture in Organic Chemistry took place on September 26. Professor Dean Toste from the University of California, Berkeley, delivered an inspiring lecture on the modern topic of gold catalysis.
Along with the lecture, the 2017 Gilead Alberta Graduate Award of Excellence in Organic Chemistry was presented to Patrick Moon (Lundgren Group) and Burcin Akgun (Hall Group). The award was presented by Dr. Stacy Bremner, representing Gilead Alberta.
