Cantor David M. Mannes, currently the part-time Ritual Assistant at Beth Shalom Congregation in Edmonton, and has served congregations in both Canada and the United States. Cantor Mannes is a member of the American Conference of Cantors, associated with United Reform Judaism(URJ), an organization representing Jewish Reform congregations world wide. He is currently a member of the pastoral care board at Canterbury Court, a senior's residence in Edmonton. Cantor Mannes is also the past President of the Pastoral Care Board at Lynwood Auxiliary Hospital. He has been involved in interfaith programming with the Edmonton Interfaith Centre. In addition David Mannes had a multi-faceted career path, first as an English and Art teacher and then an writer/ film producer-director. He was nominated in 1990 for best non-dramatic script in the Alberta Motion Picture Industry Association (A.M.P.I.A.) awards for "Writing-on-Stone" featuring actor Leslie Neilson which he produced for Alberta Parks. He is the author of several works of fiction. Cantor Mannes is married and lives in Edmonton, Alberta.
