November 27, 2008, Dr. Wenran Jiang, Mactaggart Research Chair of the China Institute, was quoted by Xinhua News Agency on China's significant achievements in the fields of economic performance, democracy, human rights and legal system.
The year 2008 marks the 30th anniversary of the initiation of China's reform and open-market policy, Dr. jiang noted that during the past three decades, China has been immersed fully with the international community and is playing an increasingly larger role in global political and economic affairs.
