China Institute and the National Institute for South China Sea Studies Sign MOU

December 12-14, 2013 Director Gordon Houlden, China Institute, University of Alberta (UAlberta) visited the National Institute for South China Sea Studies (NISCSS). Professor Houlden signed a cooperation MOU with the NISCSS on behalf of the University of Alberta, which will create a "Canada-China Maritime Security" study group. The study group will exam sensitive issues related to Asia and Arctic maritime issues. Director Houlden also met with Dr. Wu Shicun, President of NISCSS and discussed various issues including how to promote academic exchange and cooperation between the two institutes in support of the maritime security study group.
