Official work week is Monday to Friday from 9:00am-5:00 p.m. However, CCBC events are often held early morning or at night (and the whole team pitches in to help), so occasional overtime and irregular hours can be required. The Council does not pay overtime but tries to compensate by allowing people to take time off after the rush.

Position Description
The Education Outreach Coordinator will work on two projects:

Organization of the All-Canadian MBA Fair in the fall
Planning and organizing an ongoing outreach program for CCBC members in the education sector to recruit in secondary cities in China
The extern will arrange additional business outreach activities in those cities, creating value for members in multiple sectors.

Responsibilities
Develop ongoing relationship with the education section of the Canadian embassy in Beijing;
Plan and execute fall MBA Fair;
Research the market for Chinese students abroad at the high school and university level;
Identify institutions in a defined set of Chinese secondary cities with good pools of potential students;
Identify Canadian institutions at the secondary and tertiary level and create a plan for recruiting them;
Develop plan for outreach sessions and work with the Canadian team to recruit for them;
Execute outreach sessions; and
Attend and assist with CCBC events and membership inquiries in Beijing as needed.


Qualifications
Minimum undergraduate degree required. East Asian Studies, education, or business major preferred, but other majors will be considered.

Trustworthy with high personal integrity
Self-motivated, observant, hard working, detail-oriented, with good work ethic. Able to perform under stress for extended duration.
Personable and naturally enjoys work with public and strangers
English- Advanced

Mandarin- some fluency required. Speaking and listening ability should be intermediate. Advanced ability, including reading/writing, is highly desirable.


Additional Information

The following pre-departure expenses will be reimbursable through Alberta Abroad:

Round trip airfare from participant's residence to Host Organization
Cost of obtaining work permits or visas as required
Immunizations/vaccinations (depending on Host Country)
Up to 12 months of international health insurance premiums
