A special issue of select papers from our 2013 "Imagining Globality" conference has been published in the December issue of New Global Studies. These papers consider China's "soft power" efforts from various angles and across multiple fields, and thus aims to complicate conceptualizations of China and its soft power. CIUA Director, Gordon Houlden, co-authored the introduction, "Rethinking China's Soft Power," together with Heather Schmidt, guest editor of the special issue, former CIUA Research Assistant and University of Alberta PhD Candidate.
