Work & study with us

The City-Region Studies Centre is always looking for new opportunities to collaborate with community members, researchers, and municipal planners and policy makers! Below are just some of the opportunities available. Connect with us at crsc@ualberta.ca to learn more about how you or your organization can get involved!

Volunteer with Us

CRSC routinely welcomes student or community member volunteers to assist with our events (planning, set-up, promotion) and communications (social media, writing, editing).

If you are looking for something with a longer term commitment, and have experience in urban and rural planning and community engagement, we also have opportunities to join our volunteer Community Engagement Steering Committee and our CURB magazine review board.

Study with Us

Each semester,  Extension and other graduate students and international interns work with the City Region Studies Centre on applied research projects ranging from urban culture in Salvador da Bahia in Brazil, to comparing walkability in cities, to youth centres in Ottawa and Edmonton Canada. For more information on how to engage with our projects or work with us on yours, please contact us.

Research with Us

As a University of Alberta research centre, CRSC is committed to contributing to academic and professional literatures on urban and rural planning and community engagement. Whether you are a researcher interested in partnering on a new project or promoting your current research through our centre, or an organization looking for experienced, professional research consultants, we would be thrilled to hear from you. Check out our current and past research to learn more about our areas of specialization and inquiry.
