HREC Research Grants Competition 2017

The Holodomor Research and Education Consortium (HREC) announces its 2017 Research Grants Competition. Applications will be considered that focus on Holodomor research and publishing of research results, preservation of materials, and organization of and participation in academic venues (such as conference sessions and workshops dealing with the Holodomor). Grants for individuals will not exceed $6,000 Canadian. HREC is also accepting proposals for collaborative projects involving two or more individuals and/or institutions, in particular, for projects that engage both institutions and individuals in Ukraine and scholars outside Ukraine. Collaborative grants may be awarded for a maximum of $15,000.

Please send the following materials, using "Grants Competition" in the subject line, by March 1, 2017, to hrec@ualberta.ca :

- c.v. (including list of published works, if any)
- Proposal (2-3 double-spaced pages) outlining the aims and significance of the project and proposed methodology. The proposal should address the existing literature on the topic and how the project will add to our knowledge. Please include a one-paragraph summary of your project.
- A budget outlining how the proposed funding will be used.
- A letter of recommendation, preferably from academic supervisor or head of department.

Applications will be accepted in English, French, or Ukrainian. Please include your name on each page of the application.

Applicants will be informed of the outcome of the competition by March 25, 2017.
