Materials

Our research program is an interdisciplinary field involving mostly bio-resourced and nanoenabled materials.

Materials engineers place emphasis on bio-resourced and nanoenabled materials applications in civil, environmental, biomedical engineering domains. Materials engineers are interested in composites for structural engineering applications, membranes and colloidal particles for water and other environmental projects, hydrogels for biomedical products and concrete formulations. The research program involves utilization of biopolymers such as cellulose and derivatives, nanofibers from wood and agricultural fibers.
