Maria deBruijn, MA, Communications and Technology with specialization in digital engagement and Certified IAP2 Public Participation Practitioner

Maria deBruijn’s connections to civic engagement run deep.  Her commitment to investing in healthy communities started in her youth, and has continued in all avenues of her career and education.

Maria also stays closely connected to civic engagement through her volunteer work.  She served as Research Director for the Canada’s International Association of Public Participation and she was a member of the Centre for Public Involvement’s Citizen Jury on Internet Voting Advisory Committee in 2012.

Underlying all of Maria’s contributions - through research, instruction, work and volunteerism - are relationships.  She is appreciative of the polarities and complexity that exist in relationships, and is committed to exploring and working with them through meaningful engagement.
