CSL Pathways Program

CSL gratefully acknowledges the generous donation by the Edmonton Community Foundation which makes the Pathways program possible.

Pathways allows UAlberta CSL students to experience and reflect on a rich and varied set of experiences with Edmonton community organizations.

Pathways is a journey through the non-profit sector composed of three integrated parts:

  1. Certificate in Community Engagement and Service-Learning
  2. Non-Profit Board Internship Program
  3. Paid 14-week summer internship with a local organization (5 internships will be available in the spring/summer 2023)*

ELIGIBILITY:
Open to full time undergraduate UAlberta CSL students who meet the following requirements by the beginning of the 2022 Fall semester:

  • Completion of minimum of one CSL course or course with a CSL component
  • Successful completion of 30 course credits
  • Satisfactory academic standing 
  • Intent on returning to the UAlberta for the 2023 Fall term
STUDENT APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Resume (outline education history, volunteer and paid work experience, and interests)
  • Letter of intent (maximum 500 words) describing: why you want to participate in the program; skills and attributes you have to offer non-profit organizations; how what you want to gain from the program relates to your future goals
  • Application form
  • Two References (academic and personal)

STUDENT APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 1

INFO FOR CSL COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

  • Are you interested in hosting a CSL Pathways student for a 14-week internship in Summer 2023 (14 weeks between May-August)?
  • Community Organizations receive a 50% wage subsidy to offset the student's wage.
  • Please submit an expression of interest by MARCH 1st.
