Early Childhood Measurement and Evaluation Resource Centre (ECMERC)

Lead Researcher: Rebecca Gokiert
Funder: Government of Canada's Social Development Partnerships Program and the University of Alberta
Duration: 2006-2008

The Early Childhood Measurement and Evaluation Resource Centre (ECMERC) was created and launched in 2006 in response to requests from our community partners for a local resource in addressing early childhood measurement issues. The Centre was developed based on an identified need from the early childhood community for assistance in understanding the purposes, use, and limitations of early childhood measurement tools.

ECMERC engaged in research, community consultation, and resource provisions to build the early childhood community's measurement knowledge so that they can select and use assessment and evaluation tools best suited for their programs.

CUP continues to produce review of early childhood measurement tools. The Tool Reviews are organized into three categories: assessment, screening, and evaluation.
