Ms. Powley is the Vice-President of Corporate Development at Willowglen Systems, a global industrial automation provider headquartered in Alberta. Gail leads the Corporate Initiatives and Product Development functions, ensuring Willowglen’s products serve the current and future needs of the Oil and Gas, Pipelines, Power, and Transportation Industries.

Gail holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta, and has over 25 years experience in the industrial automation and technology space - guiding the direction of alarm management, regulatory and advanced control, web-based decision support, and situation monitoring technologies which have been deployed in control rooms worldwide. Gail has led projects deployed at companies such as Suncor, Syncrude, Exxon-Mobil, Nova Chemicals, Irving Oil, Conoco-Phillips, and MEG Energy.

Gail’s career has been focussed on developing and showcasing world-class technologies and technology companies. Gail has also been an avid volunteer and contributor to University Advisory Boards, recognized as Mentor of the Millennium by AWSN (Alberta Women’s Science Network), Chair of APEGA’s (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta) Women in Engineering Committee, and on Executive and Technical Committees of the CHOA (Canadian Heavy Oil Association).
