Contact Tracing and Rapid Response Plan

  1. Staff, faculty and students are strongly encouraged to use Here@UAlberta, a simple, web-based tool that U of A community members with a CCID can use to record the buildings and rooms they visit while on campus. In the event of confirmed cases of COVID-19, the university will be able to work with Alberta Health Services to notify members of the community who may have been in a location shared by an infected person.
  2. All faculties, departments, units, groups, etc. should have a rapid response plan to handle a COVID-19 case in their work area. This plan must include:
    1. Immediately isolating the symptomatic person from others.
    2. Requiring hand hygiene and masking of the symptomatic individual.
    3. Safe transport of the symptomatic person to their home for isolation.
  3. Individuals directed by AHS to legally self-isolate or with a positive COVID-19 test result must contact their supervisor or instructor immediately. The supervisor or instructor will follow the guidance on the University’s Case or Outbreak of COVID-19 on U of A Campus webpage to activate the University Rapid Response Plan.
