Information for Visitors

To help support the safety of our community, visitors coming to U of A campuses are required to be fully vaccinated or have a valid exemption and should be prepared to show their proof of vaccination or exemption upon request.

Any visitor who cannot present confirmation of their vaccination or exemption status along with a negative COVID-19 test result is not permitted on U of A campuses or properties.

All visitors are to present an Alberta government QR code to verify their vaccination status upon request by a university official. Other accepted forms of proof of vaccination include:

If a visitor has an exemption they must provide an official U of A exemption letter with their government-issued ID and confirmation of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of attending that location. A visitor must have an exemption letter and negative COVID-19 test results in advance of coming to campus. No exemptions or testing will occur on campus.

Contract managers are responsible for ensuring all contracted employees meet the university’s requirement for full vaccination.

Children: Those under the age of 12 do not need to provide proof of immunization at this time.

Visitors to all U of A facilities are responsible for monitoring their health for COVID-19 related symptoms; they’re asked to use the Alberta Health daily checklist prior to visiting our campuses. Any visitors who feel unwell are not to attend campus and asked to stay home; should they feel unwell after coming to our campuses, we ask that they please leave immediately.

While on the U of A’s campuses, visitors are required to follow all safety guidelines, including wearing masks while indoors, maintaining physical distance wherever possible, and washing and/or sanitizing hands regularly.

We thank everyone for doing their part to help keep our community safe.
