To all University of Alberta community members,
At 1:30 p.m. today, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announced that he would be enacting a state of public health emergency to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The University of Alberta is committed to doing all that we can to protect the health and well-being of our community. As a result, at this time the following measures are now in place on our campuses:
Gatherings
Any gatherings on campus must be confined to less than 50 people, and respect social distancing protocols. Study spaces and computer labs (including those in Cameron Library) will continue to operate, however please maintain social distancing. Shared spaces like these will be monitored to ensure that we are keeping within the recommended gathering sizes.
Closures
All recreational facilities, museums, and galleries are closed.
Food Services
Food-serving facilities are now limited to 50 per cent capacity to a maximum of 50 people, and diners must respect social distancing protocols. Note: The capacity measure does not apply to residence dining halls, which continue to be operational for meal plan holders.
Please see the Government of Alberta announcement for full details.
