Based on the current public health crisis and new provincial restrictions, the university's Public Health Response Team has made the difficult decision to temporarily ramp down on-campus research from Dec. 14, 2020 - Jan. 11, 2021, with the possibility of extension.

New Provincial COVID-19 Measures & Impact on the U of A Community

Today, the Government of Alberta announced new, stronger province-wide public health restrictions. These measures will impact all of those in Alberta, including the U of A community. The new measures are expected to be in place until at least Jan. 4, 2021. Additional U of A details will be available tomorrow (Dec. 9).

The first phase of resuming research on our campuses

As of May 25, 2020, the University of Alberta will be gradually resuming on-campus research activities that were temporarily paused or moved off campus as part of springtime public health measures. Guidance is now available for researchers on how to ready their campus research spaces and work environments to meet current public health requirements.
