Proof of Vaccination
CampusReady program suspended
The University of Alberta Vaccination Directive and CampusReady program were suspended effective February 28, 2022.
Need to know for the U of A Community
Effective October 4, only the CampusReady pass is accepted as a valid means of proof for attendance at U of A campuses and properties/facilities for students, staff and faculty.
You are required to upload proof of vaccination or exemption and have a CampusReady pass before coming to campus or properties/facilities; however, you will not be required to provide your pass every time you enter regular activity spaces on campus, such as classrooms, workspaces and buildings.
The CampusReady pass system protects your privacy. The pass does not display your vaccination or exemption status.
Visitors to Campus
Anyone coming to U of A campuses is expected to be fully vaccinated and should be prepared to show their proof of vaccination upon request. Learn more »
Who is considered fully vaccinated?
Fully Vaccinated means a status that an individual achieves 14 days after they have received the recommended number of doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada or the World Health Organization, and requires the individual to maintain the recommended number and type of vaccine doses as updated and required by Health Canada thereafter.
UNVACCINATED OR PARTIALLY VACCINATED PAST NOVEMBER 1
Students with in-person classes or activities this fall who did not receive a first dose of vaccine by September 20 currently do not meet the U of A’s vaccination requirements. Please contact dosdean@ualberta.ca as soon as possible for further information.
Faculty or staff members with in-person work or activities this fall who did not receive a first dose of vaccine by September 20 currently do not meet the U of A’s vaccination requirements. Please notify your supervisor as soon as possible for further information.
U of A vaccination requirement exemptions are granted to students, faculty and staff on medical or other human rights-based grounds only.
Verification
Records or proof of vaccination and exemption submissions will be regularly audited to ensure that documents submitted are valid, accurate and not fraudulent.
Any individual who submits fraudulent proof of vaccination, fraudulent documentation supporting an accommodation, a fraudulent COVID-19 test result or any other fraudulent or misleading information regarding any issue arising under the U of A Vaccination Directive will result in discipline under the Code of Student Behaviour or relevant Collective Agreement or be trespassed from university properties.
Failure to provide proof
After October 4, the Office of the Dean of Students will start reaching out to students who have not yet met the requirements of the Vaccination Directive; and, HR Service Partners will start following up with supervisors regarding employees who have not yet met the requirements of the Vaccination Directive. If you have not submitted your proof of vaccination or exemption by October 4, you will not be permitted on U of A campuses or properties until you do so.
Under the U of A Vaccination Directive, you are required to provide the necessary documentation to attend university properties. Failure to abide by any part of the Directive could ultimately result in being trespassed from the university, non-disciplinary unpaid leave of absence, discipline under the Code of Student Behaviour or relevant Collective Agreement or other applicable process.
