About Me

Dr Sligl graduated from the University of British Columbia with a BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 1996 and MD in 2001. She completed her training in General Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Alberta from 2001-2007. She subsequently obtained her Master of Science Degree in Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health in 2009. Her thesis examined outcomes in patients with severe community-acquired pneumonia and was funded by the University Hospital Foundation of Medical Research. Clinical practice is in critical care and infectious diseases. Research interests include community-acquired pneumonia; sepsis and septic shock; nosocomial infections, antimicrobial resistance.
