Announcement: Associate Chair Education and Program Director

It is our pleasure to announce that Dr. Adam Romanovsky is the successful candidate for the position of Associate Chair, Education and Program Director, Residency Training Program for the Department of Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Wendy Sligl had been the Department Education Lead since 2014 and stepped down from this position at the end of 2019. Under her leadership, we have enjoyed unprecedented growth in the CCM residency training program (37 applications for 3 positions in 2019). This growth is clearly attributed to her vision and enormous contributions. She is a tireless contributor to CCM and rotating resident education and is recognized as an outstanding educator. She has and continues to be a role model and mentor to many and a highly valued member of the DCCM.

Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Dr. Romanovsky to his new role which was effective January 1, 2020.

Dr. Romanovsky in an Intensivist and Nephrologist and Assistant Clinical Professor, who completed Medical School, Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Alberta. He is a dedicated and passionate medical educator, having served numerous roles in the Education portfolio in the Department of Critical Care Medicine, including serving as Assistant Program Director since 2014, Lead for the Competence by Design Committee for Critical Care Medicine since 2018. Dr. Romanovsky has also served as Chair of the Nephrology Subspecialty Competency Committee since 2017 and a member of the Nephrology Residency Program Committee since 2013. Dr. Romanovsky has won numerous awards for his contributions to medical education.
