ACCESS Support

We are open

We're here to support you! We may be working remotely but we're still "here" to provide you with the services that you need.

Please go to the COVID-19 (novel Coronavirus) Information page for the university's latest updates.

Service Notice

To support physical distancing benefits with regard to the spread of COVID-19, there are immediate changes to ACCESS operations. All in-person meetings and events have been cancelled until April 2021, and the office will remain closed until further notice. ACCESS staff are available from Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for remote services, including email, phone, or virtual meetings via Google Hangout. Students are urged to email doshelp@ualberta.ca to access remote services.

ACCESS Support is composed of student affairs generalists, support staff, and community brokers.

How can we help you?

We are your gateway to student resources on campus! Our goal is to help individuals navigate available services and supports and to make referrals to student services where necessary. We also provide individuals with opportunities to access short-term mental health support with our community brokers in an informal, drop-in fashion. Our tutors are available to provide drop-in/on-the-spot academic support for foundational concepts in math and writing.

Helping students access services and support

We can assist students in navigating services to ensure they receive appropriate and timely resources. If you are unsure of the support you may need, are concerned about how to access services on campus, or feel like you may need interim support while you wait to access a service, we can help!

Laptop Lending Program

The Office of the Dean of Students has a limited supply of Chromebooks that can be lent to U of A students. Due to the limited number of Chromebooks, this lending program will be conducted via a referral system. To find out more about this program or to sign out a laptop, email doslend@ualberta.ca.
