TAWOW Welcoming Event

TAWOW is our annual interactive booth fair held specifically to welcome new and continuing First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students at the University of Alberta. The event allows students to learn more about the services and programs available to the at the U of A and within the Edmonton community.

Education Gym (North Campus)


All First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students at the U of A are invited to attend TAWOW 2019! Students will be presented with a TAWOW Passport upon entry into the Education gym, then will need to visit ALL the booths to receive a free U of A back pack, PLUS be entered into a draw to win one of two $200.00 gift certificates to Southgate Shopping Centre, one of two $200.00 OneCard credit, or one of two laptops. 


TAWOW is an on-site interactive booth fair for new and continuing First Nations, Métis and Inuit learners that introduces the many programs and services available in our campus and city communities. Through TAWOW, students become well aware of volunteer opportunities, community supports on- and off- campus, internships, future employment opportunities, and awards and scholarships specifically for FNMI post-secondary learners! Past years have seen 200+ students in attendance, and we hope to greet 300+ this year.

You are invited to TAWOW, which will happen on Thursday, August 29, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

The cost to attend is $300 (which will cover the cost of food, venue, and a gift for the students).
