Bridges Orientation

Hosted by First Peoples’ House, First Nations, Metis and Inuit student orientation, also known as Bridges Orientation is for 
FNMI students that are new to campus or new to the University of AlbertaBridges Orientation is held virtually through a combination of self-guided modules in eClass (Ualberta's digital content, learning, assessment and support system), live sessions via Zoom and, covid restrictions allowing, in-person campus tours. Join us as we introduce you to Ualberta and provide an overview of the services available to support your physical, mental (academic), emotional, spiritual and financial wellbeing. 
 

Bridges Orientation will give you the tools you need to be a successful learner and a healthy, well-balanced individual while studying at U of A.


Programming

During Bridges Orientation, you can expect to:

  • Learn about First Peoples’ House — meet the team and hear about our programs and services 
  • Hear from our Elders and learn about our cultural supports
  • Learn about financial support options 
  • Investigate the academic supports that First Peoples' House offers
  • Discover the Ualberta Library system
  • Connect with First Peoples' House Student Wellness Worker, there to support your mental health needs
  • Be inspired by TikTok star Notorious Cree and author Richard Van Camp 
  • and more! 
eClass will open August 16th
