Supporting Someone in Distress

Sexual Violence

  • In response to a disclosure of sexual violence, the person who experienced sexual violence can ask the University to provide supports and resources, facilitate academic, residential, recreation, and/or work modifications, initiate an investigation of a complaint, and more. Safety Services

  • Protective Services — Learn about the community peace officer agency that provides a number of services to the University of Alberta, including general patrol and incident response, complaint investigation, accident response, and more.
  • Safewalk — Feel safer with Safewalk, the free accompaniment service for anyone travelling on or around campus at night.

Disclosures and Complaints of Misconduct

  • Disclosure Services — Disclose concerns about university policies, procedures, or ethical standards in a safe, neutral, and confidential space. This includes concerns about fraud, discrimination, harassment and bullying or research misconduct.

Community Conduct and Standards

  • Code of Student Behaviour — Know what the U of A considers appropriate and inappropriate student behaviour and how misconduct is handled.
  • Statement of Ethical Conduct — The Statement provides an overview of the standards and aspirations for ethical conduct that the University of Alberta community strives to uphold and applies to representatives of the University including executive officers, faculty, staff, post-doctoral fellows, professors emeriti, visiting academics, student employees, contractors, members of the Board of Governors, Senate, Alumni Council and others acting on behalf of the University.
