Public Health and Preventive Medicine - Research

Research Experiences

Residents are expected to be exposed to, and apply, research methodologies and use of research relevant to Public Health and Preventive Medicine within the five years of residency. 

Research experience can include:

  • Literature reviews
  • Developing research objectives and hypotheses
  • Developing methods to achieve research objectives and test hypotheses
  • Data analyses
  • Interpretation of analyzed data
  • Dissemination of research to relevant stakeholders
  • Use of research data to inform program or policy development, implementation, and evaluation

Research projects may be undertaken as part of completing a masters degree during the residency program or in graduate courses or during rotations.
