EDI Awards

Recognizing achievements in equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) is an important component in ensuring that the University of Alberta is demonstrating excellence “For the Public Good”.

 

As such, the University of Alberta is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2018 EDI awards will open on November 1, 2018.  The EDI awards will be presented during EDI Week 2019.

 

Specifically, the EDI Awards will celebrate achievement in community service, research, and workplace or classroom environments by all members of the University of Alberta campus community. It will recognize groups or individuals who have gone above and beyond to demonstrate the principles of EDI in activities that support the University’s mission to: “value diversity, inclusivity, and equity across and among our people, campuses, and disciplines”.

 

The nominations will be adjudicated by a committee that has broad campus representation.  Winners will be selected using the following criteria:

1. The impact that the nominee is making in the area of Equity Diversity, Inclusion or Human Rights. Impact can be on a body of knowledge, on an individual/group, a process, etc.
2. The nominee’s journey with EDI.
3. The sustainability of the nominee’s work.
4. Innovation or transformation in EDI.

A link to the nomination form will be posted when nominations open on November 1, 2018.

 

Selection & Timeline

Nominations open on November 1, 2018
Nominations Close on January 4th, 2019 at 4:30 pm

 

A selection committee will review all nominations and select the recipients of the awards, which will be presented during the 2019 EDI Week.

 

Please Note: We will advise the nominee of their nomination.
