Speaker Series

In 2016, the University of Alberta Urban and Regional Planning program received a generous donation from Brookfield Residential of Alberta. This allowed us to launch an annual Distinguished Visitor Program. Our inaugural Brookfield Distinguished visitor was Dr. Maurice Yeates, Dean Emeritus at Ryerson University and former Dean of Graduate Studies of Queen’s University. Dr. Yeates gave two presentations in Edmonton in March 2017.

Additionally, the Program supports the Intersections Speakers Series in conjunction with the City Region Studies Centre at Faculty of Extension. The Intersections series involves presentations from academics from across campus on issues relevant to community planning and development.

Throughout the year, many of our Faculty members and special guests present as part of the Departmental ATLAS talks.
