The Department congratulates Manuel Azuaje Alamo (BA 2006), who has been accepted into the Master's program in the Department of Contemporary Literary Studies at Tokyo University. Mr. Alamo began his Japanese study as an East Asian Studies major in the department, and took advantage of the University of Alberta's study abroad opportunities to spend one year studying at Shizuoka University in Japan in 2003-04.
Since graduating in 2006, Manual has been studying in Japan and Korea, before commencing his current program in April 2010. He will be working on a comparative study of contemporary Japanese Literature and contemporary Latin American Literature.
