Dr. Rick Szostak Appointed New Chair of Economics

Dr. Rick Szostak has been appointed the new chair of the Department of Economics, beginning his term July, 1, 2017. Rick joined the Department in 1985 after receiving his PhD from Northwestern University. He has taught courses in Canadian and European Economic History, Economic development, Transport Economics, and Microeconomic theory. He is the author of 15 books and 50 journal articles. He has held a number of administrative posts including President of the Association of Academic Staff, Associate Dean of Arts, and Associate Chair of Economics. He is President of the Economics Society of Northern Alberta, and Past-President of the Association for Interdisciplinary Studies.
