Meet our 2019-20 Facilitators!

aonanAonan

Aonan is an international student from China, and in her third year of double-majoring in English and Political Science studies. She works as a program assistant in International Student Services at the U of A and facilitates English with the Student Volunteer Campus Community. She is also a head delegate in the U of A Model United Nations. She loves talking to people and getting to know their stories. She is looking forward to meeting everyone in this club and enjoying different cultures. It will be lots of fun!

 

 

 

Brycebryce

Bryce is in his final year of his BA Honors studying Linguistics and returning for his second year as a facilitator for the EECC. Fresh off an exchange at Lund University, Sweden, Bryce loves experiencing and learning about people and languages all over the world. Outside of school, he enjoys tennis, reading, and spirited discussions about The Office.

 

madisonMadison

Madison is finishing up her Linguistics degree this year. She is excited to continue as a facilitator and create fun and engaging sessions where members feel comfortable and confident enough to challenge themselves. Madison is looking forward to connecting with old and new club members at EECC social events this semester. Outside of school, you can find her studying at various coffee shops, in her garden, or looking at pictures of Corgis.

 

 

 

Sarah Annesarah

Sarah is in her fourth year of the Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Linguistics. Outside of school she likes to spend time with family and friends, travel, do arts and crafts, and watch movies and shows. She enjoyed being a facilitator last year and is excited to continue with the club this year! This club allowed her to get more involved with the community on campus and she is grateful for another year together. She hopes to see the club grow and is looking forward to meeting more members and having a great time at sessions!

 

aidaAida

Aida is a fourth year UAlberta student, working towards her Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and Computing Science. She has worked on research projects with professors from both departments, and is planning to do a Master's in Linguistics after graduation. Aida also enjoys volunteering with student groups like WISEST and Ada's Team, as well as being a TA for junior courses. Outside of school, she's inseparable from her two cats. As someone who was once an ESL learner herself, Aida is looking forward to helping students gain confidence in their conversation skills in a supportive environment.

 

 

 

Alisaalisa

Alisa is enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts program with a major in Linguistics. As an English conversation facilitator, she is looking forward to meeting people and learning as much as she can throughout the year. In her free time she enjoys cooking, hiking and kickboxing as well as meeting up with friends.

 

andreaAndrea

Andrea is in her fourth year working towards a double major in Spanish and Psychology. She speaks Spanish and a bit of French, likes to dance, do yoga and loves to travel and explore new places. She looks forward to being an EECC facilitator because she really enjoys learning about other cultures and sharing her experiences. She has studied abroad in France and Japan and has been a peer advisor for students wishing to go abroad at the International Centre, therefore in this position, she wants to meet people from all over the world and help students with their English skills and feel welcome on campus.

 

Sahamsaham

Saham is in the Faculty of Science and she is majoring in Biological Science. Outside of class she is involved in the Science Mentor Program, Red Cross Canada, and an Executive for Aid For Diabetic Refugees. A fun fact about her is that she considers herself an asset for any Harry Potter trivia event. She is looking forward to this position to meet new people!
