I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Glynnis Lieb has accepted the position of Executive Director for the Institute for Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS) in the Faculty of Education effective September 17th.

Dr. Lieb brings with her to iSMSS a wealth of educational and vocational experience, a history of activism, and a deep commitment to anti-oppressive work. She holds a PhD in Personality & Social Psychology from the University of Manitoba, an MA in Psychology, and a BA (honours) in Psychology.

From 2012-2016, Dr. Lieb was the Executive Director for the Lieutenant Governor's Circle on Mental Health and Addiction. She has also served as the Executive Director of the Learning Disabilities Association of Alberta - Edmonton Chapter, the Research Coordinator for the Canadian Forum on Civil Justice (University of Alberta), has worked as a Counsellor for Manitoba Family Services, and most recently served as the Director of Outreach for the Alberta Federation of Labour.

Dr. Lieb brings these important experiences and skills to her role as Executive Director of iSMSS. She is very much looking forward to working with staff and faculty across campus, community partners and stakeholders, members of the Executive Committee, and donors to advance the vision and mission of the Institute.
