Tools for School United Way Campaign

Dear Colleagues,
As part of our University's and Faculty's commitment to the Public Good, I am inviting you to make an online donation to the United Way Tools for School organization that addresses social barriers and encourages learning and participation by donating backpacks and basic school supplies to children in need. The cost of a stuffed backpack is $50, and a stocked pencil case is $20.
In the midst of a global pandemic, many families have faced unprecedented challenges. Jobs have been lost in numbers not seen in our communities since the Great Depression. In addition to the 'normal' list of basic school supplies, new supplies, such as masks and hand sanitizer, are needed to keep children safe in classrooms where physical distancing is not possible. Tools for School will ensure that these are included in the backpacks made possible through this year's campaign.
Contributions in excess of $10 dollars are receipted and tax deductible. Please consider making a donation today. Many thanks in advance for your support especially in this time of great need.
