Faculty of Education undertakes strategic planning process
The 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Education provides an occasion for all in our community to reflect on and celebrate our past, as well as to contemplate our future. To that end, the Faculty is undertaking the process to create a strategic plan that will guide our shared work for the next several years.
So what does that mean? The Faculty of Education’s strategic plan will draw on the insights and expertise of faculty, staff, students and key stakeholders to identify strengths and challenges, set priorities, allocate resources, ensure we are working toward common goals, and define what success will look like.
A strategic plan facilitation team including representatives from each department, from the Indigenous Education Council and from staff, as well as undergraduate and graduate student representatives, has been convened to guide the process and make sure our priorities and objectives align with the institutional strategic plan, For the Public Good. Consultation sessions will be announced soon.
Our goal is to bring forward a draft of a five-year strategic plan to Faculty Council for discussion and feedback in the fall of 2018.
We look forward to consulting with our community, sharing ideas and setting objectives together that chart a sustainable course to honour and extend the tradition of innovative research, scholarship, teaching and community engagement established in the Faculty’s first 75 years.
