Master of Education in Educational Studies

The Master of Education in Educational Studies (MES) program is a two-year, part-time, course-based graduate program for working educators that facilitates pursuing graduate studies without taking time off work. The program is designed for professional teachers, administrators, and educational leaders who want to enhance their professional knowledge and educational practice in the areas of leadership and school improvement. Every effort is made to synchronize course offerings with regional K-12 schedules to minimize conflicts and optimize the learning experience.

The program is cohort-based and is delivered through a blend of face-to-face and online distance instruction. Each cohort completes:

  • two 3-week summer residencies (two 3-credit courses are completed in each residency)
  • four 3-credit core courses, delivered sequentially
  • two 3-credit approved electives, typically in an area of individual educational interest

The MES provides students with opportunities to develop educational research skills and apply them in educational contexts of particular interest to them. Highly qualified, enthusiastic faculty ensure exceptional levels of individualized support for all students as they investigate their own topic(s) of educational interest.
