Master of Education in Health Sciences Education (HSE)
The HSE provides you with the opportunity to complete an M.Ed. without taking a leave from your career. You can integrate your area(s) of professional practice throughout your studies while you explore the challenges and opportunities associated with health professional education.
The program is cohort based. Its blended learning approach (synchronous/asynchronous online and in-person sessions) for delivery of the required courses provides learners with a unique opportunity to connect with other professionals.
A typical cohort includes health professionals and clinical faculty from a broad range of disciplines: for example, medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, physiotherapy, nursing, speech pathology, and paramedics--to name only a few. This interprofessional diversity supports rich learning conversations, where students routinely share experiences and collaboratively build new insights about health professional education.
All students are admitted to the course-based program. Students may request a change of program category to a thesis-based route after completion of ★24 credits of required coursework, in consultation with their advisor(s). Change of program category must be made no later than the end of the second year of the program.
