The Department of Elementary Education congratulates Ms. Julie Gellner for receiving the 2018 Faculty of Education Sessional Undergraduate Teaching Award. The award publicly recognizes undergraduate teaching excellence by sessional instructors who have achieved an average rating of 4.5 or higher on most of the Faculty of Education required USRI criteria and have strong supporting evidence through anecdotal comments on the USRI, solicited and unsolicited letters.

Chair of the Department of Elementary Education Jerine Pegg says it is no surprise that Gellner, who teaches EDEL 305: Language Arts in the Elementary School, received this honour.

"Julie is an amazing educator who draws on her experiences as an elementary teacher to provide inquiry-based, collaborative, cross-curricular, and multi-modal learning experiences for our future teachers," explains Pegg.

Congratulations, Julie! We're proud of you and the work you do.
