Canada China Investment Policy Forum in Beijing
The China Institute at the University of Alberta (CIUA) in collaboration with the Government of Alberta and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences will organize a high-level forum on "Canada - China Investment Policy" on September 9, 2013 in Beijing. The one-day event will feature His Excellency Guy Saint-Jacques, Canadian Ambassador to China as well as senior provincial and federal officials as keynote speakers.
The importance of China as an emerging priority market and source of investment for Alberta's energy exports and products has become increasingly evident. Following on a series of successful annual investment forums held in Calgary since 2011, the China Institute will now, for the first time, organize an investment policy forum in Beijing. The forum will bring together senior members of industry, government and the academia to focus on existing constraints on investment and the opportunities going forward in advancing policy development and bilateral understanding.
Four expert panels will explore recent investment trends, Canadian and Chinese perspectives within public policy dialogue, practical aspects of Chinese investment in Canada, and the challenges and future prospects faced by both countries. Senior officials from the Alberta, Canadian and Chinese governments will be present.
